In this lesson, we will discuss patient setup and slice positioning, indications for this exam, MRI anatomy, and discuss some imaging challenges associated with this study. Let's get started. An MRI of the foot can provide detailed visualization of subtle pathologies of the soft tissue and bony structures of the foot. Some common indications for this study include tendon and ligament injuries, joint pain or swelling, stress fractures, Lisfranc injury, plantar fasciitis, osteomyelitis, arthritis, Morton's neuroma, and tumors or masses.
