MRI Arthrogram - Video Lesson

Hey everyone, welcome to today's lesson on MR orthography of the joints. In this lesson, we will discuss patient preparation and setup, slice positioning, indications for this exam, MRI anatomy, protocol sequences, and a couple of common imaging challenges associated with this study. Let's get started. An MR arthrogram is used to evaluate intra articular structures of joints such as the shoulder, hip, knee, wrist, or ankle. It involves injecting a contrast agent directly into the joint to distend the joint capsule and enhance visualization of structures like cartilage, labrum, ligaments, and tendons. Common indications for this study include glenoid labrum tears, acetabular labrum tears, cartilage defects, ligament tears, loose bodies, synovial abnormalities, and postsurgical evaluation of joint repairs. Let's take a look at the patient
