An MRI of the shoulder can help evaluate the rotator cuff, labrum, bony structures, and muscles. Some common indications for this study include bursitis, labrum issues, nerve impingement, masses and ligament or tendon tears. Common tendon tears include those of the rotator cuff, the supraspinatus, infraspinatus, teres minor, and subscapularis tendons.
