Hey, everybody. Welcome back to our lesson series on the classes of medication. This video discusses medications aimed at treating respiratory system disorders, the basic anatomy of the respiratory system, and essential information about administering medication for these disorders. The respiratory system encompasses the organs responsible for the most basic but essential need of the human body, breathing. It consists of the upper respiratory system, which includes the nasal cavity and pharynx, and the lower respiratory system, which includes the larynx, trachea, bronchi, and lungs. The primary function of this system is to supply oxygen to the body's cells and remove carbon dioxide. The process begins with inhalation where air enters through the nasal cavity, is warmed and humidified, then travels down the trachea, splits into the bronchi, and finally reaches the lv.
