Hey, everybody. Welcome to today's discussion of the different classes of medication. This lesson focuses on the common medications used to treat endocrine disorders, their use and administration, and precautions specific to this class of medication. Some endocrine disorders are very common, such as diabetes, so having a firm grasp of this class of medication is extremely important. The endocrine system consists of several glands which produce hormones that regulate metabolism, growth and development, tissue function, and sexual function, among other things. These glands include the pituitary gland, the thyroid gland, the parathyroid gland, the adrenal glands, the pancreas, the ovaries in biological females, and the testes in biological males.
