This course focuses on mastering essential medication management skills. It covers a comprehensive range of topics from understanding medication labels and different medication cart systems to the correct administration techniques for various types of medications, including oral, inhalable, and topical forms. Each lesson is structured to provide detailed descriptions of practice and rigorous assessment. They instruct participants into how to effectively manage medication supply, avoid administration errors, and adhere to safety standards in clinical settings.

• 1. Recognize and describe the essential parts of a medication label, measured by a visual identification test.

• 2. Differentiate between types of medication cart systems and unit dose packaging, and explain unit of use dosing, assessed through multiple-choice questions.

• 3. Compare and contrast different types of medication orders (routine, PRN, standing, one-time, STAT, titration) and identify their components, evaluated by scenario-based analysis.

• 4. Discuss potential errors in medication supply and storage, implications of not following proper administration rights, and identify points where drug errors may occur, assessed through a problem-solving exercise.

• 5. Safely administer oral, sublingual, buccal, and respiratory medications, including the use of pulse oximeters, inhalers, and nebulizers, measured by practical demonstrations and competency checks.

• 10. Describe and demonstrate the procedures for administering injectable medications, including insulin injections, focusing on safety precautions and correct site selection, assessed by observation of technique and safety compliance.
