Before setting up and administering any medication, you must understand the different pieces of information on the medication label. These include the trade or brand name, the generic name, the form of the drug, the dosage strength, the route of administration, the precaution or warning label, storage requirements, the national drug code or NDC numbers, and the expiration date, lot number or batch number.
