Filling k-Space: Single-Shot Imaging Options - Video Lesson
Hey, everybody. Welcome to today's lesson on filling k space. This lesson discusses single shot imaging, a method for rapid data acquisition. It is important to understand these concepts as they will help you to optimize your scan protocols and reduce scan time. Let's get started. Single shot imaging is also a method to fill case space. There are two types of single shot imaging. One using a train of spin echoes and one using a train of gradient echoes. If a train of spin echoes is used, it is termed a single shot fast spin echo or SSFSE. If a train of gradient echoes is used, it is termed echo planar imaging or an EPI. In the spin echo family of pulse sequences, single shot imaging is a technique used to fill all the lines of k space during one TR period. Single shot refers to using a single x
