Hey, everybody. Welcome to today's lesson on filling k space. This lesson discusses different image acquisition methods and how they can be used to fill k space efficiently. Additionally, we discuss how slice encoding and the multiplanar reconstruction or m p r work together to create new images in post processing. Let's get started. There are three ways to acquire data during a scan. Sequential, two dimensional volumetric, and three-dimensional volumetric. Gradient echo sequences typically use sequential, while spin echo sequences use two d volumetric, and both spin and gradient echo volume imaging use three d volumetric. In a sequential acquisition, all the data from slice one, then slice two, etcetera, are collected and displayed in order.
