Abdomen Sonography: Gallbladder Pathology 2 - Video Lesson

Welcome back everyone to our series on abdominal ultrasound. Today, we will continue to discuss gallbladder pathology, focusing on conditions that affect the gallbladder wall and lumen. We'll look at both benign and malignant findings, as well as the possibility of metastatic disease. Our goal is to learn how to distinguish mobile from non mobile findings, shadowing from non shadowing lesions, and to recognize which features suggest a harmless condition versus one that requires urgent attention. Let's get started. When evaluating the gallbladder for masses or structural changes, it's important to carefully examine both the wall and the lumen in multiple planes. We want to know whether any findings are mobile or fixed, and whether or not they produce posterior acoustic shadowing. A fasting exam ensures the gallbladder is distended for the best visualization.
