Hey, everybody. Welcome back. This lesson is about semiconductors used for radiation measurements. Semiconductor detectors are used for several kinds of radiation detection devices. For example, some handheld detectors for environmental surveys, can be constructed with a semiconductor detector. These are used by nuclear medicine technologists, medical physicists, and anyone who needs to survey an environment for radiation, some x-ray testing detectors are constructed with a semiconductor detector. These are used by medical physicists to ensure the X-ray tube is functioning correctly. Some automatic exposure control or AEC cells are constructed with a semiconductor detector.
