Hey, everybody. Welcome back. This video is about the differences between direct current and alternating current. The word current simply refers to the flow of electrons in an electrical circuit. The difference between direct current and alternating current is very simple. In direct current or DC, the electrons are flowing only in one direction. Direct current is important in radiography because the tray tube uses direct current. This is why electrons only flow from the cathode to the anode and not in reverse. There's no change of direction. In alternating current or AC, the electrons are not flowing in just one direction. Instead, they are moving rapidly back and forth.
