Receptor Errors - Video Lesson

Hey, everybody. Welcome back. In this video, we're talking about receptor errors and artifacts that we might see in radiographic imaging. These errors are not just hypothetical. They are real issues that can significantly degrade the image quality. And interfere with the radiologist's interpretation. The first type of error can be called receptor damage. Receptor damage can occur to a DR or to a CR receptor. Receptor damage is just physical damage to the receptor that causes hyper dense, that means bright white artifact on the image. DAMged areas of the image receptor cannot capture store, or transfer radiation information. As a result, those areas of the receptor that are damaged get displayed as bright white as though they receive no radiation exposure at all.
