Processing Errors - Video Lesson

Hey, everybody. Welcome back. In this video, we're talking about processing errors that we might see in medical radiography. Processing errors can occur within the radiography computer system, when the exposure information from the image receptor is being converted into a digital image. This example demonstrates two identical chest x rays created using the same exposure technique and the same positioning. The reason they look different is because of the computer processing. The first image on the left was correctly processed as a chest x-ray. The second image on the right was incorrectly processed as an abdomen. To understand why this happens, we first have to understand histogram. A histogram is a special kind of graph that tracks exposure values recorded by the image receptor, and this is an example.
