An MRI of the vascular structures of the chest can be used to evaluate the blood vessels of the thorax, including the thoracic aorta, pulmonary arteries, brachiocephalic arteries, subclavian arteries, and superior vena cava. Some common indications for this study include Aortic aneurysms or dissections, aortic coarctation, pulmonary embolism, vascular stenosis or occlusion, thoracic outlet syndrome, congenital vascular anomalies, or vascular trauma.
