How magnification is measured and the relationships between multi field intensification and patient dose and image quality. Multi field intensification is an important concept to grasp as you may encounter it during a fluoroscopic procedure, and it directly impacts patient dose and image quality. Multi field intensification involves changing the size of the input field in the image intensifier to improve the image's resolution and magnification. Multi field intensification only applies to fluoroscopic systems with image intensifiers. In other words, multi field intensification can be thought of as a magnification mode on a fluoroscopic system.
