CT Orbits - Video Lesson

This protocol review is on CT of the orbits. For several reasons that we might perform a CT orbit scan, Some of these indications include proptosis, which is bulging of the eye, pain in the eyes, vision changes, abnormalities, and there are potentially other reasons that we might perform a CT scan of the orbits. So how does this scan need to be performed? The scan type at most institutions is going to be the helical mode. Generally speaking, the helical scanning mode is preferred for exams that require contrast. CT of the orbits may require contrast it may not, but in either case, helical scanning is usually the preferred scanning mode.
