The pancreas can be difficult to identify, and the pathologies can sometimes be even more difficult to identify Here we're talking about pancreatitis. Just like any word ending in itis, pancreatitis is referring to inflammation. This time inflammation of the pancreas. So what does pancreatitis look like? It appears as pancreas enlargement But more importantly, it also shows up with reactive fluids or ascites surrounding the area of the pancreas. So even if you can't clearly see the pancreas, if you can see inflammation or ascites or stranding in the fat surrounding the pancreas, There's a very good chance that this patient has pancreatitis.
