CT Abdomen and Pelvis (Coronal) - Video Lesson
Hey, everybody. In this sectional anatomy tutorial, we'll be looking at a CT abdomen and pelvis this time in the coronal plane. Before we even look at the anatomy, let's first remember This is the right upper quadrant. This is the left upper quadrant. This is the left lower quadrant, and this is the right lower quadrant. This is an important thing to remember because we can associate anatomy in the abdomen with those quadrants. For example, the first large structure that we can see in the right upper quadrant is the liver. And at this point, we can also see the gallbladder. So we're definitely not on the most anterior side of the patient, but we're pretty far anterior which is why we can see clearly all of this small bowel, and we can also see a significant portion of this transverse colon. It's not always this easy to see the transverse colon, but in this particular image, it definitely is. Over here, once we get a little bit more posterior in the patient will eventually see the spleen, which is why that flexure is called the splenic flexure. And then over here, eventually, we're going
