Hey, everybody. Welcome back. This is the third video in a series on radiation units and measurements. In this video, we're talking about absorbed dose. Remember that some measurements like exposure and air chroma measure radiation, but only radiation and error. They tell us how much radiation is directed at the patient or at the healthcare worker. Absorb dose is different. Absorb dose tells us how much radiation is absorbed in the patient or in the healthcare worker. When radiation enters a person's body, some of the radiation energy is absorbed in the tissues of the body as a result of ionization. Just like radiation creates ionization and air, ions are also created in the body. Some of this radiation energy is absorbed during the photoelectric effect.
