Potential effects of radiation exposure include things like skin erythema, hair loss, called epilation, cataracts, acute radiation syndrome, and cancer called carcinogenesis, which is the topic of this lesson. Of all of these effects, Carcenogenesis is the most likely adverse effect to occur in medical imaging. Even carcinogenesis is very unlikely. But compared to the other effects, it is associated with the highest probability of occurrence.
