Hey, everybody. Welcome back. This video is about tube bloating. Tube loading refers to the heat created within the x-ray tube, especially at the anode. X-ray exposures create a huge amount of heat. In fact, about ninety nine percent of electron energy at the anode is converted to heat, and only about one percent of that energy is converted into x rays. If the x-ray tube is overheated or overloaded, it can cause the anode to melt, and it might even rupture the entire x-ray tube assembly. To avoid that, we calculate what we call the heat units. Heat units refer to the heat created within the x-ray tube. And they're equal to the KVP multiplied by the MA multiplied by S, that's the exposure time, multiplied by the variable w, which stands for the waveform factor. The MA and the exposed
