Anode Cooling II - Video Lesson
Hey, everybody, and welcome back. This is a continuation of our discussion of anode cooling charts. In the other anode cooling chart video, we were interested in discovering the length of time it takes for the anode to cool completely. Fortunately, with advances in energy target material, as well as the ability of the x-ray tube's components to dissipate heat efficiently, exposures can now be made before the anode in the two housing cools fully. There is still, however, the need to know how much time it takes for the anode to cool enough before another exposure can be safely made. For example, these two images were taken of the lateral lumbar spine. Each image created five thousand heat units.
