Hey, everybody. Welcome to this overview of fluoroscopy. This lesson discusses the purpose of fluoroscopy, compares fluoroscopy to radiography and previews the essential components of fluoresce systems and safety considerations associated with them. Understanding how fluoroscopy works will ensure your safety, as well as the safety of your patient while still creating high quality diagnostic and procedural images. Floroscopy is an imaging technique that uses x rays to create real time moving images of the internal structures of the body. For example, fluoroscopy is used during barium swallows to show how the patient's esophagus is functioning. So let's talk about the differences between fluoroscopy and radiography.
