Hey, everybody. This lesson discusses the energy conversion process in flat panel detector as well as how the detector elements of the flat panel detector contribute to image quality. Remember, flat panel detectors are significantly different from image intensifiers. Where image intensifiers are made up of many different components and there are several energy conversions within the image intensifying process. A flat panel detector is made up of just three layers and there are just three energy conversions within a flat panel detector during a fluoroscopic procedure.
