Humerus: Anatomy & Routine Projections - Video Lesson

Hey, everybody. Welcome to today's lesson on the gross anatomy and routine radiographic projections of the humerus. This essential topic forms the foundation for accurate imaging and diagnosis of conditions related to the humerus. In this video, we'll cover appropriate medical terminology, the anatomy of the humerus, and routine projections for radiographs. Let's dive in. Key terms for this lesson include humerus, largest and longest bone of the upper limb. Head, rounded most proximal portion of the humerus. Anatomic neck, slightly constricted area directly below and lateral to the head. Then you have the greater and lesser tubercles, processes directly below the anatomic neck. Intertubercular sulcus or bicipital groove, a deep groove between the tubercles. Surgical neck, tapered area below the head and tubercles. Body or shaft, area of the humerus distal to the surgical neck.
