Radiography: General Anatomy Body Cavities - Video Lesson
Hey, everybody. Welcome to today's lesson on the general anatomy of the body cavities. This essential topic forms the foundation for understanding and identifying anatomy on a radiograph. In this lesson, we'll cover appropriate medical terminology, body cavities and location of organs, and body habitus types. Let's dive in. Recall from the general anatomy body systems lesson that cells compose all anatomical structures found in the human body. Groups of similar cells make up tissues and have specific functions. When various tissues combine to carry out a specific function, they create an organ. An organ system is made up of organs with a shared function. And finally, the body is made up of ten different organ systems, which work together to form a single living organism. The ten body systems, skeletal, circulatory, digestive, respiratory, urinary, reproductive, nervous, muscular, endocrine, and integumentary are housed in body cavity.
