In trauma settings, rapid identification of internal bleeding is critical and focused ultrasound examinations provide a non invasive real time way to assess for the presence of free fluid. Let's get started. These exams are indicated for patients with blunt or penetrating trauma who are hemodynamically unstable, have signs of shock, or are at risk for intra abdominal injury.
