Hey everybody. Welcome to today's lesson on spatial encoding in MRI. This lesson discusses the basic concepts of spatial encoding, including the mechanisms of gradients in spatial encoding, as well as the overall process of spatial encoding during an MRI scan. Spatial encoding in MRI is how we map the location of signals within the body to create a detailed image. This process allows us to pinpoint the exact origin of the MRI signal in three-dimensional space, enabling the production of high resolution images of the internal structures of the body. Understanding spatial encoding is crucial because it directly impacts the quality and accuracy of the diagnostic information obtained from an MRI scan.
