Calcaneus - Video Lesson

In this view, we will be demonstrating the lateral calcaneus. The lateral calcaneus should be performed with the patient seated or lying on the radiographic table with the image receptor placed tabletop, a forty inch source to image distance and no tube angulation. For the lateral calcaneus, is gonna roll to the affected side. We are going to flex her foot again. Okay. The central ray is one inch distal to the medial malleolus centering to the ir still at forty SID. With a right marker anterior, we wanna see the shadow of the calcaneys or the heel up to the fifth metatarsal. Patient will hold very still and the exposure is made. A diagnostic lateral calcaneus radiograph must be free of motion and rotation.
