This lesson is the second in a series about the prime exposure factors. Here, we're going to be talking about exposure time. Exposure time is a rather simple concept. It's simply the amount of time that trons are flowing through the tube and the x rays are being created. We measure exposure time in units of seconds and a long exposure time results in more total electrons and more total x rays. It's actually very common to think about exposure time in combination with tube current. Tube current is measured in MA. Exposure time is measured in seconds. When multiplied together, this gives us the mass. These two exposure factors together control the total intensity of the X-ray beam.
