Hey everyone. Welcome to today's lesson on cardiac anatomy for MRI. In this lesson, we will discuss the process of blood flow through the heart, anatomy on key views and cardiac imaging, and anatomy on true axial imaging. Let's get started. Before looking at MR anatomy, let's review the general process of blood flow through the heart. Deoxygenated blood from the body arrives through two large veins. The superior vena cava contains blood from the upper body, and the inferior vena cava is blood from the lower body. These connect to the right atrium where the deoxygenated blood enters the heart. The right atrium contracts and pushes the blood through the tricuspid valve into the right ventricle.
