MIMPS Networking - Video Lesson

Welcome back in this lesson, we'll be talking about PAC's networking. A PAC system can actually be organized in at least three different ways. And each of these architectures has its own advantages and disadvantages. A PAC's network can be organized as a server based system a web based system or a distribution system. So what exactly are we connecting with these packs networks? The imaging equipment, the pack servers, and the radiologists reading stations all have to communicate with each other. And there's different ways of connecting these different systems. To start with, let's talk about server based systems. In this system, images are sent directly to the pack servers, and then they're interpreted from the PAC servers at the radiologist reading stations. So in order to view these images in this system, A radiologists must access the PAC's network from a dedicated PAC station. So there are some advantages and disadvantages to this range as far as advantage
