MEMPS, formerly known as PACs, is important to understand because it is a critical component of patient care. MIMPS stands for medical image management and processing system. The FDA renamed Pax, the picture archiving and communication system to MIMS in April of twenty twenty one, which is why the name may be unfamiliar to you. Mims was renamed because of parts of the twenty first Century cures act, that redefined what types of medical software are regulated by the FDA.
