Introduction to Radiography Patient Care

The Introduction to Radiography Patient Care course is intended to offer learners a look at the basic elements of patient care. The course covers general patient care procedures like taking vital signs (pulse, blood pressure, etc.) and an EKG overview. Additionally, it covers more radiography-specific patient care topics related to lab tests, IV contrast, and barium sulfate. 

Topics included: IV contrast properties, patient prep, and complications.

• Evaluate patient health using vital signs, laboratory tests, and patient records.

• Discuss the types and properties of contrast administration.

• Identify and respond to medical emergencies. 

• List drugs relevant to imaging, routes of administration, and safety practices.

• Radiography students of all levels

• Radiography students preparing for the ARRT® Radiography Registry Exam

• Other Imaging students or professionals in need of a refresher
